The Bible and Science

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The Bible is God's book to show us redemption. World history and science are only included when necessary as they give context to stories showing God's love toward us.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3
God is defined in verse 1 as existing before the earth and as the Creator of everything we see. In verse 2 it appears the earth was covered in water, so it already existed before God said, "Let there be light".

Therefore the LORD God sent him (Adam) forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. Genesis 3:23
Anthropologists tell us agriculture started between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago in the Euphrates river area, which lines up perfectly with the Bible.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Psalms 14:1
Sin and Satan blind people from the truth.

Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. Daniel 1:4
    Science is important to kings.

And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:18-19
Satan was cast out of heaven before the garden of Eden in Genesis 2:8.

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called. Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. 1 Timothy 6:20-21
Some scientific theories are "falsely so called" when they have not been proven as facts. Paul tells Timothy to avoid these arguments. They are not relevant to salvation, which is the main purpose of the Bible.
